హైదరాబాద్: ఇండోనేషియా వేదికగా ఇటీవల ముగిసిన 18వ ఆసియా గేమ్స్లో పతకాలు గెలిచిన భారత క్రీడాకారులు బుధవారం ప్రధాని నరేంద్ర మోడీని ఆయన నివాసంలో బుధవారం కలిశారు. ఈ ఆసియా గేమ్స్లో భారత క్రీడాకారులు గతంలో ఎన్నడూ లేని విధంగా 69 పతకాలను సాధించిన సంగతి తెలిసిందే.
దీంతో క్రీడాకారులను తొలుత అభినందించిన ప్రధాని మోడీ అదే జోరుని రాబోవు టోర్నీల్లోనూ కొనసాగించాలని సూచించారు. ముఖ్యంగా గ్రామీణ, నిరుపేద కుటుంబాల నుంచి వచ్చి అద్భుత ప్రదర్శనతో పతకాలు గెలిచిన అథ్లెట్స్ను చూసి మోడీ ఎంతగానో సంతోషించారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా మోడీ మాట్లాడారు.
ఆసియా గేమ్స్లో పతకం గెలవడం ద్వారా విశ్రాంతి తీసుకోవద్దని, 2020 టోక్యో ఒలింపిక్స్లోనూ సత్తా చాటాలని క్రీడాకారులకి ప్రధాని మోడీ సూచించారు. ప్రపంచ స్థాయి క్రీడాకారులతో పోటీపడాలని, అందుకు టెక్నాలజీని వినియోగించుకోవాలని సూచించిన ప్రధాని.. గ్రామీణ ప్రాంతాల్లో ప్రతిభకి కొదవలేదని నిరూపించారని అన్నారు.
ఈ ఆసియా గేమ్స్లో పతకాలు గెలవడం ద్వారా భారత ప్రతిష్టని మరింతగా పెంచారని క్రీడాకారులను కొనియాడారు. ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి కేంద్ర క్రీడల మంత్రి రాజ్యవర్ధన్ సింగ్ రాథోడ్ సైతం హాజరయ్యారు. ఆసియా గేమ్స్ చరిత్రలో భారత్ జట్టు 15 స్వర్ణ పతకాలతో పాటు 69 పతకాల సంఖ్యని అందుకోవడం ఇదే తొలిసారి.
