She found excellent support from Amy Hunter, whose valuable 28 ensured Ireland stayed firmly on course. The West Indies bowlers showed plenty of determination and kept fighting till the end, but they couldn't contain Prendergast, who paced her innings to perfection, until falling shortly before the winning line. Ashmini Munisar was the standout performer with the ball, picking up two wickets, but it wasn't enough to prevent Ireland from completing the chase, and West Indies semi-final hopes now rest on New Zealand's result in the later game. Orla Prendergast is deservedly named the Player of the Match.
