  • 51.1

OUT! Caught. Dale Steyn to Shaheen Afridi. Short, to leg swayed away, Gloved in the air uncontrolled to wicketkeeper, by de Kock. That's flicked the glove and that's out. Shaheen trying to sway out of the way couldn't keep his hands down and de Kock takes an easy catch. That brings to an end the session and Pakistan's first innings. Everything has fallen into place perfectly for South Africa, the four seamers justified their selection. Once again it was Olivier who led from the front taking four wickets to add to his 11 from Centurion.

Up in the air, de Kock calls for it, Amla gets out of the way but the man with the gloves on can't hold on. It was awkward, he had to twist last minute and dive but the ball found the ground.

Great effort from Bavuma, that would have been a catch for the highlight reel, diving full length to his left.

  • 46.6

Edged and well caught by du Plessis. The good length ball to the lower order batsman is underrated. Yasir Shah pushed at it, edged it and the skipper did the rest. Olivier's golden run of form continues.

  • 124.1

  • 123.4

SIX! Mohammad Amir to Dale Steyn. Slower length ball, down leg side backing away Slog, well timed in the air under control over deep mid wicket for 6 runs. In the slot for a good old fashioned slog over mid wicket.

  • 70.4

OUT! Caught. Kagiso Rabada to Shaheen Afridi. Short, down leg side backing away Slog, mis-timed to mid wicket, by Philander. The fun is over. Slogged into the midwicket sky and Philander clings on. There's some debate about taking the extra half hour with 41 required to win. It's been decided we're all coming back tomorrow.

Pakistan have fought well with the bat all day with stellar contributions from Shan Masood, Asad Shafiq and Babar Azam. They were too far behind on the first innings to cause South Africa any real worries about the runchase and will no doubt go 2-0 down some time tomorrow morning. Join us then.

  • 70.3

  • 69.5

  • 69.2

Dale Steyn to Shaheen Afridi. Short, down leg side ducked, hit helmet to short extra cover for no runs, fielded by Bavuma. Afridi has ducked into it and worn one right on the badge. There are five minutes of scheduled play left tonight. This will probably ensure there is no prospect of the extra half hour being taken.

  • 69.1

FOUR! Dale Steyn to Shaheen Afridi. Short, down leg side backing away Slog, top edge in the air uncontrolled past third man for 4 runs. I don't think Afridi knew remotely had any idea where that was going but it was going big. Sliced over third man.

  • 68.6

  • 68.6

APPEAL! Vernon Philander to Mohammad Abbas. Length ball, outside off stump backing away Slog, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to mid off for 1 run, by Rabada, appeal made for Caught. They thought it was all over. The South African openers had dashed off the field. A wild slog by Abbas went to Rabada to mid off. • 67.6

OUT! Caught. Kagiso Rabada to Babar Azam. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot Steer, outside edge to first slip, by Amla. That's the wicket South Africa were desperate for. Babar was looking to steal the strike. Extra bounce from Rabada to take the shoulder of the bat. Nice grab by Amla at first slip. Superb 72 from the middle order star.

Dale Steyn to Babar Azam. Half volley, outside off stump on the front foot driving, to cover for no runs, fielded by Bavuma.

  • 9.5

FOUR! Azhar Ali to Dean Elgar. Back of a length, down leg side on the front foot pulling, well timed past fine leg for 4 runs.

Way down the leg side and pulled around the corner to the fence. South Africa take the win by nine wickets and it has been a completely dominant three and a bit days for them. With that win they also take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
Dean Elgar battled hard this morning with the ball nibbling around and some even taking off, Hashim Amla felt the full force of one of the deliveries on his arm. That and the Aiden Markram injury will be the only thing worrying South Africa as their performance with both bat and ball was exemplary. Pakistan on the other hand haven't had the best of times with bat in hand and they might decide to make a change or two. Do join us on the 11th for the third and final Test at Johannesburg.

  • 9.4

FOUR! Azhar Ali to Dean Elgar. Half volley, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed in the air under control past long on for 4 runs. Drilled back over Azhar Ali's head. Elgar is not going to let the part-timer settle.

Mohammad Amir to Hashim Amla. Seaming in length ball, to leg on the front foot, hit body to short leg for no runs, fielded by Khan. Wow! What a delivery from Amir. On a length but it hits a crack and takes off, striking Amla on the back bicep. South Africa will want to get this game over very quickly before too many of these deliveries appear.
Amla is going off, that must have hurt quite a lot to make Amla retire hurt.
