Looking ahead - 146 might not seem like a challenging target but UAE have momentum with them and they do possess a bowling lineup that can do well in these conditions. Nepal will be fairly confident of chasing this one down, especially with the dew likely to settle in as well, but a couple of early wickets could make things really interesting. Stay tuned as the run chase is up next.
Recovery act - UAE will feel they have gotten out of jail here. They were 60/3 after 10 overs, which quickly became 66/5 in 11.3 overs, and only Aryansh Sharma had played a knock of any substance till then. Then came the stand between Sohaib Khan and Harshit Kaushik that turned things around for UAE. The duo stitched together a 68-run stand before Kaushik got out on 35. Khan finished off with an unbeaten 38 off 27 balls as UAE picked up 65 runs in the last 5 overs.
Spin is King, for Nepal - Nepal might not have been able to close things out strongly with the ball but their spinners bowled really well. Even Karan KC started well with the big wicket of the UAE skipper in the first over but couldn't quite keep things tight at the death. Sandeep Lamichhane was the pick of the bowlers as he got two wickets but the likes of Sher Malla and Dipendra Singh Airee too did a fine job. Overall, they will look to work a bit more on their death bowling.
Trading blows - The first 20 overs of this contest have provided us with plenty of action and after a solid showing with the ball from Nepal for about 15 or so overs, UAE have finished really strongly. However, 145 still feels 10-15 runs short of a par score and Nepal would have gladly taken this score at the toss.
A couple of runs to end the innings! Nandan Yadav bangs in a bouncer, on middle, Sohaib Khan tries to pull but gets a top edge that falls safely in the vacant short fine region. The fielder from the deep runs in and throws it to the keeper, who takes the bails off, but Khan puts in an excellent dive to get inside the crease. United Arab Emirates finish on 145/6.

Innovative! Fuller and on middle, Muhammad Arfan goes down across and scoops it over the keeper's head. The fielder from short fine chases after it, collects and throws it back to the keeper. However, Arfan pushes for the third, and Khan makes his ground.
Good bowling! Yadav nails the wide yorker, outside off, Muhammad Arfan fails to dig it out.
Gets away with it! Fuller and outside off, Sohaib Khan drills it towards long off for just a single.
Oh..that is a bad ball! Nandan Yadav loses his grip and bowls a high full toss down the leg side. Sohaib Khan swings but fails to get it away. Called a No Ball as it is above the waist of the batter. Free Hit to follow.
DROPPED! Would you believe it? It is Dipendra Singh Airee who has spilled this chance. Short of a length and on middle. Sohaib Khan pulls it hard and flat, but straight towards deep mid-wicket. Airee tries to reverse cup it near his face but fails to hold on to it. Two taken.
The next batter is Muhammad Arfan.
OUT! TAKEN! Karan KC finally breaks the budding 68-run stand. He hits the length hard, on middle. Harshit Kaushik backs away and tries to swat it away but gets hurried. He miscues the shot off the outer half of the bat over the bowler's head. Kushal Bhurtel from mid off, runs a long way to his left and takes a good catch. Kaushik walks back for a fine 35 off 24 balls, and UAE are 134/6.
FOUR! Poor delivery and rightly punished! Back of a length but angling down the leg side, begging to be put away. Harshit Kaushik gets inside the line of it and jus helps it on its way over short fine for a boundary.
Hard length and on middle, Harshit Kaushik heaves it away towards deep mid-wicket and comes back for the second run. Good running!

SIX! Wow..that is a shot and a half! Pitched up and on middle. Harshit Kaushik backs away a bit to access the off side. He hits it through the line and carves it over the wide long off fence for a biggie.

Fullish and on middle, angling in, Sohaib Khan drills it to long on for one. 3 double-digit overs on the trot for UAE. They need to finish well now.
FOUR! Superb batting! Nandan Yadav tries the bumper, on middle and leg. Sohaib Khan is quick to pick up the length. He swivels and pulls it away to the deep backward square leg fence for another boundary. That also brings up the 50-RUN STAND between these two batters.
Bangs this into the pitch, on off. Sohaib Khan flat-bats it down the ground. He does not time it that well. Karan KC from long on runs forward but fails to reach it and lets it through his legs as well, allowing a second run.
Goes fuller and on off, Harshit Kaushik bunts it hard on the ground and the bounce takes it over the bowler's head for a run.
FOUR! Up and over! Short of a length and outside off. Harshit Kaushik uses the width on offer and slashes hard at it. He slices it off the outer half of the bat and the ball spins away from the deep point fielder for a boundary.
Good length and on middle and leg, Yadav falls over on his follow-through. Khan nudges it through square leg for a single.
Fires one full, on the pads, Harshit Kaushik turns it to the leg side. 11 runs off the over, 24 in the last two. Sandeep Lamichhane finishes a good spell of bowling with figures of 4-0-24-2.
Done with this game - That wraps up this game. Nepal have walked away with the bragging rights against fellow Associate side UAE after a well-rounded performance. The action continues as teams move through their warm-up fixtures, fine-tuning plans and ironing out a few creases. Flash, fall, fix - With the bat, UAE produced an effort that brought smiles and a mild headache in equal measure. The Powerplay was productive and promising, but the innings lost its way soon after. The scoring rate stalled, and wickets fell with stubborn regularity, one feeding the other. At 5 down for 66, Harshit Kaushik and Sohaib Khan stepped in with a timely rescue act. Their 68-run partnership gave the innings much-needed oxygen and brought the total close to 150, but it ultimately was not enough.
Flavourless bowling from UAE - This game laid bare plenty of problems for the UAE. There was a flicker of early spark, driven almost entirely by three excellent overs from Muhammad Rohid, who bowled with genuine fire and venom. Beyond that, the bowling lacked bite and purpose. The spinners found little from the surface and did themselves no favours with inconsistent lines. The end result was a defeat that will sting and demand some hard reflection.
A statement win by Nepal! What a commanding performance! Chasing a target of 146, Nepal wobbled early at 45 for 3, but that was as shaky as it got. Dipendra Singh Airee (50* off 31 balls) and Aarif Sheikh (61* off 37 balls) then took complete control with an unbeaten 103-run stand that oozed composure and intent. They blended caution with timely aggression, shut the door firmly on any UAE comeback and cruised home with plenty of overs to spare. A chase paced to perfection and finished in style.
FOUR! That seals it, and in style. Short on middle, Sheikh turns inside the crease and clouts it behind square leg for the winning boundary. The hundred-run partnership comes up as well, and Nepal cruise home with three overs to spare, a comprehensive seven-wicket win.

Fifty for Dipendra Singh Airee, off just 30 balls! Full on middle, he clips it calmly to deep mid-wicket and jogs through for a single. A fine knock, timed to perfection.

SIX! Aarif is dealing in sixes now. Short on off and sitting up nicely, he rides the bounce and hammers it over square leg. Nepal are turning this into a procession.
SIX! BOOM! A fraction short around off, Aarif swivels on the back foot and muscles it cleanly over mid-wicket. That is a huge hit, and Nepal are within touching distance now, just 11 more needed. FIFTY FOR SHEIKH OFF 33 BALLS!

SIX! Bang! Full and flighted around off, Dipendra Singh Airee charges down the track and launches it high and handsome over long off. That clears the ropes with ease. Nepal now need 17 from 24 balls.

FOUR! Up and over point! Short and wide, begging to be put away, Aarif rocks back and hammers it over the infield. No chance for the fielder. 33 needed off 31 balls.
Length ball on off, Airee taps it down to backward point and steals a quick run.

Play and a miss! Short again, outside off, Sheikh tries to cut but this time there is some extra bounce and it beats his bat.
FOUR! Nepal keep cruising towards the target. Short and wide outside off, Aarif waits on the back foot and cuts it past the diving point fielder. A good start for Nepal after the break.
Drinks break. Nepal are firmly in the driver's seat, riding on the unbeaten stand between Dipendra Singh Airee and Aarif Sheikh. With just 43 needed from 36 balls, the chase is well under control.
