Jason Sangha is a right-handed batter who emerged through the Australian junior system, becoming one of the youngest players to earn a New South Wales contract while still at school. After making his List A debut as a teenager in 2016, he captained Australia at the 2018 Under-19 World Cup.

Prior to his Sheffield Shield debut, Sangha made global headlines in November 2017 by scoring 133 against a touring England XI for CA XI, becoming the youngest player since Sachin Tendulkar to hit a First-Class century against England. He followed that up by scoring a debut hundred for NSW in his third Shield match in late 2018.

His white-ball footprint expanded during his debut 2018–19 BBL campaign with the Sydney Thunder, a franchise he would later captain during the 2022–23 season. His breakthrough domestic summer arrived in 2021–22, when he amassed 504 Shield runs for NSW alongside a career-best BBL campaign (445 runs for the Thunder). Following a dip in regular red-ball opportunities with NSW, Sangha moved to South Australia for the 2024–25 season to revitalize his career.

The move proved transformative: Sangha scored 151 and 61 on his SA Shield debut and capped off the season by hitting a fourth-innings century (126*) to secure South Australia’s first Sheffield Shield title in 29 years. He maintained his strong form into the 2025–26 Shield season with a century against NSW and a half-century against Victoria to help SA reach another final. Sangha remains a core part of SA's squad for 2026–27 and earned selection in Australia A's tour of India in late 2026, positioning him back in national red-ball calculations.
